The 8th Volvo Dun Laoghaire Regatta got underway today, Thursday 11th July. The biennial four-day series is IrelandÕs biggest sailing event as the four waterfront yacht clubs have come together for this sailing extravaganza; Dun Laoghaire Motor Yacht Club, National Yacht Club, Royal Irish Yacht Club and Royal St. George Yacht Club. Over 2,500 sailors have descended on the waterfront as 500 boats across 34 classes compete out on Dublin Bay. The Volvo Dun Laoghaire Regatta takes place until Sunday 14th July.
