DUN Laoghaire is gearing up for Ireland’s biggest sailing event that is returning to the seaside town later this month. The 2019 Volvo Dun Laoghaire Regatta biennial four-day series will take place from Thursday, July 11 to Sunday 14. A festival of fun, sun and sailing awaits those in attendance at the waterfront and Dun Laoghaire town, as the four local yacht clubs come together for this sailing extravaganza.

Brendan Courtney will be sailing, top interior designer Suzie McAdam will be sailing, architect on the telly Dermot Bannon, Leinster and Irish Rugby star Rhys Ruddock will be sailing and hopefully I’ll be sailing too. Someone stop me before I turn into Rod Stewart! They’ll all be at Ireland’s biggest sailing event, the 2019 Volvo Dun Laoghaire Regatta, which runs July 11-14. Expect 2,500 sailors and 500 boats at the biennial event and lot of celebs in Dubarry deck shoes and your striped tops.
A detailed social programme has been planned for sailors by the four host yacht clubs, and there will also be a number of public events for everyone to enjoy.
The Sailing Instructions are now available for the Volvo Dún Laoghaire Regatta 2019, and Online Entry will close in the next few days. This will be UNMISSABLE!
This will be the largest regatta on the Irish Racing calendar with entry open till 30th June – over 450 entries are now confirmed in 34 classes and they will race across 6 different race course areas.
